People always ask us…”How did you come up with the name “Nice Guys Buying Houses”?” Before the company had a name we were in a house talking with the homeowner. We asked the nice owner…”Why did you call us instead of other investors?” Her comments we will never forget. She said “I called you because the Ugly Houses guys would think my house was ugly. I know it needs some work, but I don’t think it is ugly.”
We didn’t think it was either. She wanted to sell the house, but she wanted to sell it to someone who she believed could turn it into something beautiful again. It wasn’t ugly because it was her home, she grew up there, she was comfortable with the 70’s carpet and gold appliances.
From that day on we decided to name the company something it stood for…Being Nice! Where we’re from people say “you guys” a lot, much like in the south we say “y’all”. And “you guys” refers to men and women. So we named the company Nice Guys Buying Houses. We have as many women working for us as men. Either way, we want everything about this experience to be nice for you as a seller.
